Assignment I: LAb flow chart
Requirements:
1) Must use Poster board and Markers (or type, print and paste onto paper). NO PENCIL
2) Design an extensive flow chart that includes ALL 3 labs (364, 365, & 366)
- the very first 'Box' should include ALL the cations that you looked for in the 3 labs
- inbetween EACH result use bullets to describe what you have (or should) do to gain those results
EX: -added 6M HCl
-heated in hot water bath
- ect....
3) The chart has to be legible and neat. Sloppy work will not be accepted.
4) This assignment will help prepare you for the last lab 'General Unknown'
Assignment II: Write a short research paper
Requirements:
1) Select an article that is chemistry related from scientific literature. Ex: Science or Nature magazine, the science section on Tues in either The New York Times or Newsday.
2) Submit a copy of the article to me for approval by Tues 7/27. No exceptions!
3) After approval, read your article, do background research on the topic from at least 2 sources (1 can be your textbook)
4) Write a summary of the subject matter covered in the article, minimum 3 pages (no more than 5), double spaced, no more than 1.2" margins. Cite all resources in the text of your paper using the number of your reference.
5) When submitting your paper a copy of the original article must be included (but does not count towards the min of 3 pages)
